Josh Kenny - Master Gunsmith

With well over a decade of experience working at the pinnacle of the gunmaking industry, Josh Kenny brings the heritage of London Best and Italian precision to every firearm he works on.

Josh began his career as an apprentice at James Purdey & Sons, widely regarded as one of the finest gunmakers in the world. There, he mastered the traditional art of English gunmaking, gaining hands-on expertise in finishing, re-jointing, lock making, rifle regulation, servicing, and complete firearm builds—including Mauser-style actions and double rifles. His time at Purdey instilled a commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and uncompromising quality.

Following Purdey, Josh joined Beretta, one of the most respected names in modern firearms. Working within the service and repair department, he handled everything from the iconic 680 and 690 series to the DT and SO ranges, as well as rifles from Beretta’s sister companies Sako and Tikka. He also spent time at the Beretta factory in Gardone, Italy, working on the factory floor to further refine his skills in building and maintaining some of the most recognized firearms in the world.

For the past two years, Josh has successfully operated his own gunsmithing business, continuing to provide bespoke services including restorations, competition builds, servicing, and custom stock work. His craftsmanship is sought after by clients who value heritage techniques combined with modern precision.

Beyond the bench, Josh is also an accomplished competitive shooter, with multiple National Titles and a World Championship win to his name.

His shooting career has taken him around the globe, where he has also provided firearms training to everyone from first-time enthusiasts to elite competitors and military professionals.

Servicing and Maintenance

Whether your gun is in need of its yearly service or you have an issue that needs fixing, we are able to offer comprehensive servicing for your gun. From stripping the gun down to its bare component parts to removing any rust or tarnishing that may have formed. Ensuring that all areas of the gun are clean and serviceable.

We believe that a gun should look as good on the inside as it does on the outside, regardless of whether it's readily visible or if only the gunsmith taking the gun apart can see it.

Stock finishing and Checkering

A well finished stock is one of the most important aspects to the look of a gun. We use traditional finishing techniques used by some of the best gun makers in the world such as Purdey and Holland And Holland to achieve the best finish available.

We are able to restore older guns to like new or even better than new condition, as well as on newer guns that may not have the desired finish as they come from their respective factories. Whether you prefer a matt or high gloss finish we are able to provide the desired look and finish to your stocks.
